Juventas is looking for a Relief Residential Support Worker to assist in the running of our four-bed Registered Children's Home based in Norwich.

The role

Juventas cares for looked-after children in residential and semi-independent supported accommodation so they can live a positive and meaningful life as they approach adulthood.

As Relief Residential Support Worker you'll be:

  • Ensuring that all children and young people have their needs met and are safeguarded from harm, neglect, abuse or exploitation
  • Responding to any childcare concerns appropriately
  • Ensure that the building, equipment and furniture in the home is well maintained.·
  • Working effectively and coordinating with social workers, parents/guardians and other connected professional agencies


The ideal candidate:

  • At least 1 year's experience working with young people in a similar environment
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Level 3 qualification in Social Care (Young People) or willingness to work towards this upon successful probation
  • A good understanding of Ofsted key framework and standards, preferably through previous work experience within a similar setting
  • The ability to relate to and communicate with children
  • An understanding of a child's development including physical and emotional needs
  • The ability to work with children who may have suffered past trauma and/or have significant attachment needs
  • An understanding of and commitment to reflective practice
  • An ability to identify the needs of children
  • An ability to undertake regular sleep-ins
  • An ability to organise own workload and meet targets
  • An ability to contribute to a team approach to service delivery and problem-solving
  • An understanding of safeguarding children
  • An understanding of equality and diversity
