We care for looked-after children in residential and semi-independent supported accommodation so they can live a positive and meaningful life as they approach adulthood.
We offer medium and long-term placements to children and young people who have experienced trauma in their lives. We ensure without compromise that our children and young people receive the best quality of care and support.
We're now looking for a Bank Residential Support Worker to join our team in our Registered Children's Home based in Norwich.
The role
As Relief Residential Support Worker you will:
- Ensure that all children and young people have their needs met and are safeguarded from harm, neglect, abuse or exploitation.
- Respond to any childcare concerns appropriately.
- Ensure that the building, equipment and furniture in the home is well maintained.·
- Work effectively and coordinate with social workers, parents/guardians and other connected professional agencies
The ideal candidate
You'll have:
- At least 1 year's experience working with young people in a similar environment
- Full UK driving licence
- Level 3 qualification in Social Care (Young People) or willingness to work towards this upon successful probation
- A good understanding of Ofsted key framework and standards, preferably through previous work experience within a similar setting
- The ability to relate to and communicate with children
- An understanding of a child's development including physical and emotional needs
- The ability to work with children who may have suffered past trauma and/or have significant attachment needs
- An understanding of and commitment to reflective practice
- An ability to identify the needs of children
- An ability to undertake regular sleep-ins
- An ability to organise own workload and meet targets
- An ability to contribute to a team approach to service delivery and problem-solving
- An understanding of safeguarding children
- An understanding of equality and diversity
